GLP® provides fibre optic lighting systems in Dubai and across the UAE for residential, commercial and hospitality projects. Our solutions are designed to create beautiful lighting effects while keeping the main electrical light source in a safe and accessible location.
While LED lighting is known for its energy efficiency, fibre optic lighting offers unique advantages, especially for pools. The light source can be safely housed outside the pool in a dry box, supporting easy maintenance and safe use in wet environments while durable fibre optic cables deliver vibrant, even illumination.

The installation process focuses on the precise routing and placement of GLP® fibre optic strands, forming the foundation of the final lighting effect. Each fibre is carefully positioned according to the approved lighting layout to ensure balanced illumination, visual consistency, and long-term performance.
Accurate spacing, clean cable management, and secure fixing are critical at this stage, allowing the system to integrate seamlessly into the structure before finishing works begin. This ensures the fibre optic lighting delivers refined, reliable illumination with minimal visual impact once activated.

Find quick answers to the most common questions about our fibre optic lighting solutions.
Fibre optic lighting uses flexible optical fibres to carry light from a separate LED illuminator to one or multiple lighting points. The fibres transmit light rather than electrical power, making the system suitable for decorative, architectural and specialist lighting applications.
Yes. Fibre optic lighting is well suited to swimming pools and wet-area applications because the optical fibres transmit light without carrying electricity. The LED illuminator can be installed remotely in a suitable dry and accessible location, while the fibre delivers light to the required area. The complete installation must still be designed and installed in accordance with applicable electrical and pool safety requirements.
Yes. When connected to a compatible RGB or RGBW LED illuminator, fibre optic lighting can produce colour-changing effects, static colours and dynamic lighting scenes. The available effects and control options depend on the selected illuminator and control system.
Fibre optic cables generally require very little maintenance because there are no lamps or electrical components at the fibre endpoints. Routine maintenance is mainly focused on keeping the optical endpoints clean and inspecting the LED illuminator, connections and control equipment periodically.
The practical transmission distance depends on the fibre type, diameter, illuminator output, number of fibres and required brightness. GLP® can specify the appropriate fibre and illuminator configuration according to the dimensions and lighting requirements of each project.
Yes. GLP® can provide a complete fibre optic lighting solution, including system design and specification, LED illuminators, fibre optic cables, fittings and accessories, and compatible control solutions based on the requirements of the project.
Fibre optic lighting is used across hospitality, residential, commercial, landscape, swimming pool, wellness, entertainment and architectural projects. Typical applications include hotels, villas, restaurants, spas, pools, water features, decorative ceilings, feature walls, landscapes and other architectural lighting installations.
